Its my birthday, and I just came back from seeing Green Day at their last US show for this year. Great way to celebrate my birthday, by the way. I was at their first show of the tour in Seattle and I can’t help but compare the two. First off, the opening band, Franz Ferdinand was awesome. The sounded great and they played with enthusiasm, unlike the Bravery who opened Green Day’s shows at the beginning of the tour.
Green Day started off with the new stuff (I don’t remember the...

I’m usually not a big fan of fan covers of Green Day songs, the ones where fans plays the guitar or bass in front of the actual track, but this guy, Mike Macasero is something else. The Offspring does a great Basket Case, where Avril Lavigne sucks. But Mike’s got almost every track of himself playing and signing of 21st Century Breakdown up on Youtube, as well as a bunch of other covers,...

For all those old school Green Day fans out there here’s a rare gem, Dominated Love Slave, Tre Cool’s song. Tre sings and Billie plays the drums, and they both do it quite well. This is very old school, from a private little show Green Day put on. I think Tre should sing more often, he has a good voice, just for the fun of it. What do you think?

He actually left a comment on one of the videos I edited and uploaded to YouTube and I was able to contact him. Here is the full email interview plus pictures.

Here is part two of Green Day in Seattle. Just finished editing it on the plane back from Seattle (to LA). Featuring Akeeva (the “little shit”), Before the Lobotomy, Are the Waiting and St. Jimmy. Stay tuned for part 3, with the guy they brought up on stage to play Jesus of Suburbia, plus an exclusive interview with him.

This is the first of many videos to come (I do quite a bit of editing) from the Green Day concert at the Key Arena in Seattle WA, on July 3rd 2009. Taken with my iPhone and edited on my Macbook using iMovie. Also took videos and pictures using my regular digital camera. On a side note, I was yelled twiced by a security guy because of my video recording.
For my full review, as well as pictures from...
